Shirley, I have a John Pfrimmer who came from France in 1788. He was a preacher as well as a doctor and settled in Indiana. One of his descendants (maybe a grandson) went to Illinois. There is a very extensive article about him at familytreemaker.com. Hope this helps.

Shirley Miller: I just ran across your Pfrimmer message from May l, 2000. Ella (Mary) Pfrimmer, who married Will Davis, was the daughter of Andrew Pfrimmer and Jane Palmer. They had five children: Fanny, Ella, Alice, George and a fifth whose name is not yet known. Andrew was a son of John George Pfrimmer, Jr. and Sarah Friedley who were married in Harrison Co., Ind. and had nine children, of whom Andrew was the youngest. The Pfrimmer family history includes descendants of two of them, Samuel and Mary Jane. I could send you the relevant portion of the Pfrimmer family history if you wish, and I would be very pleased to have your information about Ella Pfrimmer Davis, and, hopefully, her siblings as well. I am the genealogist of the Pfrimmer family and have considerable information about the Pfrimmers in both Alsace and America. Looking forward to hearing from you. I lived in Boulder, Colorado. Send me your snail mail and e-mail addresses. Sam Hays

All I know is that Ella and Will had several children. Will died fairly young and Ella had to put all of the children out for adoption. They were placed in a home for children in Quincy, Il. It may have been called Woodland Home for Children or something like that. I am strickly going on memory. I know it was still in existance around 1960. My mother took me their once.
One of the boys was named Alfred. He was adopted by the Turner family and lived in Denver. He married and had three or four children. One boy was named Charles. He died in Quincy sometime between 1963 and 1965. I believe he was buried in New Canton. My mother was one of the daughters. She was adopted by the McCormick (Charles and Sophie) family in Quincy, Il. My mother spoke once of a sister but I don't know anything about her. I will be glad to provide you with any addition information I have. Send me an email.
