Ramona Marie McDonald, 97, died peacefully October 8, 2006 at her home in Oklahoma City. She was born in Oklahoma City on December 22, 1908, the oldest daughter of William and Mayme Pfotenhauer.
She graduated from Central High School in 1927.
Ramona married Royal Rufus "Rusty" Ryan in 1931; they had one daughter, Mary Lillian. Rusty died in 1962 and Ramona married Glenn M. "T-Bone" McDonald in 1965. Ramona was a homemaker and community volunteer. She was active in the Altar Society at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where she was a member for 25 years and later in the Christ the King Altar Scoiety. She was also a member and past President of the following: Catholic Women's Activities Club, The Helper's Club, Marcellin Study Club, and Rotary Anns. Ramona was instrumental in founding the St Anthony Hospital Volunteer League, serving for many years in numerous capacities including President of the League. She was a long time member of the St Anthony Foundation Board.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Royal R. "Rusty" Ryan and Glenn M. "T-Bone" McDonald, two sisters, Mary Tracy and Veronica O'Brien.
Survivors include her daughter, Lillian Ross and husband Bill, OKC; grandchildren, Becky Roten and husband Alan, Molly Fritch and husband John, Bob Ross and wife Heather all of OKC; great-grandchildren, William Roten, Caroline Roten, and Lilly Ross; niece Mary Alice Renner and husband, Ed, Ft Worth, TX; nephews Bill Hubbard and wife, Janet, Seaford, DE and Mike Tracy and wife, Lyne, OKC.
The family expresses their appreciation to Autumn Bridge Hospice and to her caregivers, Barbara, Lydia, Sonny, Leah, Angela, Angelie and Sharon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Anthony Foundation, 826 NW 11th, OKC 73106 or Christ the King Scholarship Fund, 8005 Dorset Drive, OKC, 73120.
A mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
