Hi Kathy, what a coincidence! I just got a copy of that song this evening from another member of the Green family. Thank you for your info. Are you connected in anyway to the Edward Green family (it was his second wife, his son, and his wife's daughter by her first marriage that were killed). I have the words to a ballad about the hanging too, haven't looked at them for quite a while but believe they are different than what Flatt and Scruggs sang. It was from an article in the "Goldenseal" magazine. Don't recall exactly when they put the article out, but seems like it was in 1991. There were several photos of people involved with the murder (men who found the victims, John Morgan, and others) plus an account by a woman who had been a young girl living next door at the time the murders took place. It was an excellent article. Would love to hear from you if you would like to email me at
kanix@mac.com. Thanks again for your calling the song to my attention, my cousin hunted for it for months, amazing that I would get two messages on the same night! Bye for now, Kay Nixon
