Hello,

I have been researching my family with great success in some areas. Except on my Father's Mother's side.
Here Father was Andy Ulrich and his Father was Fred Ulrich.
Her mother's side was a bit blurry. Her Mother was Flora Pfohl, who I believe died young, because there is a second Mother listed in my Dad's baby book of Ariel Harwood.
From Flora, she just has two last names Pfohl and Beiman.

Looking for info on the Pfohl's or any links. I believe they lived in Richland Center, Wisconsin, that is where my grandmother is buried. I also believe that somewhere on the Pfohl side there was an artist, Grandma's sister Shirley said that a GG grandfather painted China and paintings.

Hi from a Pfohl -5th generation in Canada(Preston-Cambridge Ontario). We woke up one late night to find our television still on, running an episode of "Antique Road Show " Someone was having a piece of pottery valued. The appraiser was quite familiar with the famous artist who he said was from Switzerland and whose last name was - you guessed it -- "Pfohl" That' s all we got. Still searching for our roots!!

Do you know any of your ancestory?
I found the name in my Father's baby book.
It was spelled one way, crossed out, and re-spelled.

Unfortunately that whole side of my family is gone and I am at a big dead end, in fact you are one of the few people I have found with the last name.

Yes. I have traced our tree on the Pfohl side back to Jacob b. 1625 in Surbourg, Alsace-Lorraine, France. Still looking for the famous artist. Do you know his first name and approximate d.o.b. and country of origin? What was the other spelling? We have found Pfhole in my grandfather's records but so far this has not turned up anywhere else.

I have information on a Flora (Pfohl) Ulrich wife of Rudolph who dies in 1927 at the age of 27. She died in Wisconsin, but was from Chicago. She had 3 children who when she died were Shirley, age 6, Robert 2 1/2, and June 6 months old. Flora's father was the famous china painter/artist, Wenzel Pfohl, from Austria, who worked professionaly in Chicago until his death in 1928. His wife's name was Marie Pfohl, who died in 1947. Wenzel & Marie had 3 sons, Felix, Victor & Arthur Pfohl, and Flora. Email me if you need more info. jotv319@aol.com Josie

Would anyone recognize this family group please?

1. Dr Josef HELLER-2 (b.15 Feb 1868-Doubek Near Ceský Brod (near Prague) d.1 Oct 1938-Smrzovka)

| sp: Elisabeth Ilse PFOHL-49 (b.19 Jul 1903-Liberec (deut. Reichenberg) m.6 May 1926)

+-2. Arnold HELLER-53 (b.30 Jul 1906-Smrzovka Morchenstern bez. Gablonz)

Elisabeth Ilse PFOHL was probably the daughter of Ernst Pfohl, the compiler of the Sudeten/Czech Gazetteer.

Alfred, Arnold and Jan came to England - but cannot be found here beyond 1950. It is possible that Jan was a spectacle frames manufacturer who went either to Australia ( cannot find any immigration) or to Canada ( We have the family on board the Aquitania to Halifax, Nova Scotia.

I would love to find someone who knows of the family and can guide me to the descendents.
