Middle-Eastern Pflaum Origins
I was DNA tested with a G2a3b1a Haplogroup. Theories are that it may have a Turkish, Cucasus, or Iranian origin. Are there any Pflaum family members out there who have family stories that mention a middle-east origin? I have traced my family members back to 1629 near Bamberg.

I would love to know a Pflaum who had family near Kirchaich Bavaria around 1650 and who would be willing to be DNA tested!

Re: Middle-Eastern Pflaum Origins
Hello, My name is Ingrid and my mother from Oberhaid, Bamburg, Germany. There is a story in her family that her grandmother's brother who's last name was Pflaum came to the US in the late 1800's early 1900's. I have no first name and the only information that she has is that they received a post card from the "biggest bridge in the world" in the early 1900's. It is also believed that he married a woman in the US that already had 4 children. My mother also said that in the 1950's a man from the US came to Oberhaid and talked to her aunt. He said that he was this man's son. The Aunt was elderly and didn't really understand so she sent him to Staffelbach to continue his search for relatives.

Re: Middle-Eastern Pflaum Origins
Thanks for the reply. My family, I am pretty sure was in a little town called Kirchaich Oberaurach, Bavaria, from around 1650 to around 1840. Not too far from Bamberg. Before that is a mystery! My haplogroup may indicate they were originally from an alpine region. My haplogroup has also been also associated with Sephardic Jews but my family appears to have been Catholic from at least the early 1600's. Certainly the mystery family!
