I am researching the Pflaum (Flaum) family, who emigrated from Alsace in 1888, and settled in Ohio, Pa.
I have much information, seeking more.

My mothers maiden name was Pflaum and was raised in southern Illinois. I have a cousin that i am trying to find that hs done some reasearch of the Pflaum geneaology. I find it interesting that you are looking for the Pflaum's that came from Alsace.

I am working on my surname of Levin and they were also from that same region of Alsace. It would be very strange to find out that our ancestors might have known each other prior to this generation.

I am researching the Ireland/Pflaum families from Illinois and found your entry. My Mother, Goldie Ireland, was the daughter of Flossie Pflaum Ireland. I do not know who her parents were but would love to. I do know her husband John Irelands family came from Southern Illinois (Noble,IL). Do you think there would be a link here?

Love to hear what you have found. Or if you do not choose to e-mail you can leave a reply to this message.

marriage license was issued on July 22, 1886

I am researching the Pflaum family as well- most settled in Ohio, though my ggrandfather moved his branch of the family to Pittsburgh, PA.

My earliest is Conrad Pflaum b. 1797 in Weilersburg, Bavaria, Germany and d. 1837 in St. Henry Ohio.

My genealogy info for the Pflaum line is available to read on-line at http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/n/i/k/Erin-K-Nikitchyuk...

I am in touch with a number of Pflaum researchers (6 or 7) but have yet to find a link with them. If you are a pflaum researcher and would like to be "in the loop" for sharing Pflaum research, e-mail me at ane@bigfoot.com and I'll send a message out to the group.

I am most recently interested in:
- discovering why Conrad's Son George A. Pflaum was in Houston where he died as a young man in 1856.

- proving possible links to Pflaums in Kansas and/or South Dakota. My father met a nurse in Viet Nam named Mary Pflaum who was a spitting image of his aunt, but they could find no immediate relation. He insists there must be a link somehow

- Finding Conrad's "other" family from his first marriage, which produced Martin Pflaum (m. Maria Nessen), Jacob Pflaum, and Anna Pflaum Dummig.

- Erin (Pflaum) Nikitchyuk
