Searching for descendants of John and Jacob Pflager (brothers) and their families who emigrated from Germany to Ohio and Nebraska. Other connecting family names are Zinsmeister, Williams, Biron and Eggers. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Jan, Thanks for the reply, as you can see the Pflager message board isn't the most popular out there. We are definitely related and I would love to find out what kind of information you have - especially on the Pflager side. Joshua Perrin Williams who married Phoebe Pflager is my great-great grandfather. I've got some substantial info on the Williams lineage and some very interesting stories related to John Pflager (m. to Mary Ellen "Mollie" Williams). For further information and correspondence you can reach me at: markn@sramarketing.com Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Stumbled onto this site & I believe I am one of these Ohio Pflager decendants, but do not have a lot of detail (my uncle is the family historian).

G Simons,
Found your query today from 3 Nov 2001. Am hoping you get this email.
I have a Gertrude Bornhofen who married Louis Pflager. That's all the information on Louis I have. All I have for Gertrude is her parents names: John Bornhofen, married 13 Apr 1879 to Catherine Merten. (I have Catherine's birth info, she is a twin, and her parents names.)
Any information on Louis and on his wife Gertrude would be greatly appreciated.

Mary, All I have on Louis is that he was born about 1863 in Allegany County, NY. This is according to the 1865 NY State census which lists him as 2 years old. His parents were:

Jakob Pflager (born February 03, 1825, Niederkirchen bei Otterberg, Pfalz, Bayern (Germany); died December 09, 1910, Wellsville, Allegany Co., NY (no parental info in death record)) and

Henrietta ? (born November 12, 1826, Germany; died April 14, 1867).

It appears that after Henrietta died the children (7 known, Louis being the youngest) were split up and sent to live with relatives (some in Ohio). My GGrandfather Albert returned to Wellsville, Allegany Co, NY some time before the 1892 NY State census.

Let me know if any of this information is useful in confirming that this is YOUR Louis Pflager.
Gary
