My great-great grandmother was a Pfister from Lahr,in the Black Forest. The town has given all of its old records to a man who is putting them all on computer, at his home. If you want his name I will give it to you, but hesitate to put it on line without his permission. The records go back to about 1300 with a break of about a hundred years, due to some war or other.
Her father's name was Johann Martin Pfisterer botn October 21, 1798 in Lahr, his wife was Maria Magdalena Schneider, born May 03, 1804, with a daughter Margaretha Elizabetha Pfisterer, born December 10, 1794. The daughter married George Friedrich Vieser on June 07, 1813, and their daughter was my great-grandmother - Juliane Vieser. The person with the records speaks only
German, but his daughter speaks very good English, and they are very helpful.
My e mail is oneill@together.net. If you send me your e mail so that I can give you the researchers name without putting it on line, please do so.
