Thanks for the message. The only first name I have at this time is Martha L. Pfister. She married Albert Zieman in Menominee, Michigan in 1894. My Grandmother (who is 90) is sure they spelled in Pfister (because they pronounced it fister). However, on the back of one of the pictures it the name is spelled pfiester. Thanks for sharing information with me. I only wish I would have thought of this years ago when my Grandmother had a better memory.

pfister or pfiester reply

I am also looking for the parents/siblings of Michael Pfiester. He is my GGG-grandfather. I do know the following facts:
He married Wilhelmine Pletz (b. 1828, d. 1924)
They had the following children: Henry, William (I am descended from William), Wilhelmine Luise, Friedrich August, Caroline, Eduard, Emil Otto WIlhelm Heinrich and Bertha Lina. I can give you more info. on William's line if you would like.
I also found last week Michael Pfister listed on the list of soldiers for Company E of "Stucken's German Company". He is listed as being a trumpeter. It shows him as originating in Wurzburg, Bayern, Germany and he was a tailor. Frank Van Der Stucken was the captain of this company.
If you would like more info. or if you have anything you could share with me, please email me directly. msweb22@yahoo.com. Thanks!

My name is Lisa Budd, and I am researching my Heim and Pfister relatives.

My gg-grandpa was John (or Johann) Heim. He emigrated to the United States from Prussia (Germany) and married Mary Pfister (Phister - Pfiester), which immigrated from Switzerland. John was born about 1846 and came to the U.S. about 1865, where he lived in the Brazil area of Indiana, and later moved to Kansas. I found he and his family in the town of Clay City, Clay County, Indiana in the 1880 Census.

Mary Pfister Heim was born in Switzerland about February of 1853, and emigrated to the US in 1867, supposedly to live with family in the Terre Haute, IN area. Mary Pfister is said to have a brother named Samuel Pfister and a sister named Louisa Pfister.

John and Mary Heim had a total of 12 children: Mary, Emma, John, Rosa, Dora Anna, baby boy, Elizabeth, Sophia, Minnie, John Fred, Samuel, and another baby.

John and Mary Heim's daughter, Dora Anna Heim, married Alvin Sellens. Many of which stayed in Kansas and several moved to Missouri and settled.

Any relatives and any further information on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.
Lisa Budd

Hello,

I noticed in your posting that you have a Louise Pfister from Germany. Would you be able to tell me when she and her family immigrated to the United States? Did any of your relatives wind up in Indiana or Kansas?

Thank you for your time.

Lisa

I do not think the Pfister you are talking about belongs to my Pfisters. My great-grandmother was Martha Pfister and lived in Michigan. Thanks anyway.
