Re: Pfeiffer from Wuerttemberg, Germany
I don't know if there is a connection or not, but my ancestor, Andreas Pfeiffer is from Wangen, Goeppingen, Wuerttemberg, Germany, born 1821; died 1902 in South Dakota, U.S. His mother was Christina Bosch, his father is unknown to me at this time. Andreas came to America in 1847.
Is there a possible connection?

Re: Pfeiffer from Wuerttemberg, Germany
Hi Jane - We may be related.
Our family lived in Rotensol, Germany near Dobel for over two hundred years. We have a record of Christopher Frederich Pfeiffer, born in Rotensol in 1771, He married Maria Magdalena Waker Wacker (I didn't make that up! lol).
They had ten children: six boys and four girls.
There first sons was Gottfried Pfeiffer, born in 1799.
Our great great grandfather, George Pfeiffer, was the second son, born in 1800 in Grand Dutchy, Hessen, Germany. George Pfeiffer immigrated to Pennsylvania in 184? with his family including Addam Pfeiffer, our great grand father. They all eventualy ended up in Pittsburgh, PA.
Next, Christopher Frederich Pfeiffer was born in 1802.
Then, Andreas Pfeiffer was born in 1806.
Then, Johann Phillipp Pfeiffer was born in 1808.
The mother's don't match and the birthday of your Andreas Pfeiffer was born in 1821.

Re: Pfeiffer from Wuerttemberg, Germany
Hello again!
Do you know any more about your Andreas Pfeiffer born in 1806? It's remotely possible that he was my Andreas' father. It would have made your Andreas 15 and a half when he had my Andreas--which, is not likely, but possible...
I know I'm grasping at straws, but I've been up against this brick wall with him for quite sometime.
Thanks!!
Jane

Re: Pfeiffer from Wuerttemberg, Germany
My great great grandfather is Jacob Pfeiffer born in 1828 and died in 1905. Came to the US in 1848...from Alsace Loraine area of Germany at the time... He married Agatha Meier (native of Switzerland). Interesting side note here is that 4 of his grandchildren (children of John and Annie) married 4 Sriegels. The Striegel family traces back to the Baden-Wurttemberg area as well (Braunenweiler)... We have a full and extensive tree developed through th eyears on Jacob's descendants but have been unsuccessful getting information on the ancestors (thinking records had been destroyed in the war). We believe his father's name was John?

Re: Pfeiffer from Wuerttemberg, Germany
Hello. I am trying to find any information on my great-great grandfather, Christopher Frederick Pfeiffer. He was born 17 January 1825 in Wuerttemberg, Germany. I have nothing more specific as to his birth location He arrived in USA in late 1840's. He married Catherine Stiram in March 1850 in Pennsylvania. I cannot find him in the 1850 PA census. His first three children were born in PA, and his last three were born in Iowa. He is in the1860 census in Iowa He died 30 July 1905 in Marion, Iowa. His children, in birth order, were Mary, Sarah, James, Obed, Louise, and Catherine. I am interested in finding out who his parents are and information on any siblings. Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Re: Pfeiffer from Wuerttemberg, Germany
Interested in your family. I believe my ancestor Gottfried Pfeiffer was the older brother of your George. I am somewhat surprised that George was born in Hesse Darmstadt as I thought all of Christoph's children were from Rotensol. I have George arriving in Baltimore in 1829 with his wife Magdalena, son Gottfried and sister Jacobina; Is this the same George in Pittsburgh? Anyway Gottfried died in 1852, but his widow Fredericke Rosina brought her two sons and a daughter to Iowa about 1855. The one son Jacob Frederick changed the name to Piffer and the other son Johnannes Gottleib changed it to Pipher. If you have more interest in this branch of the family feel free to contact me. My mother was the granddaughter of jacob Frederick. Charles/Denver
