I am looking for information regarding the family of John & Wilhelmina (Meininger) Pfeiffer of West Seneca, New York. Both were born approx. 1850 in Germany in the Darmstadt area. They settled in the West Seneca/Buffalo, New York area. One of their sons, William Pfeiffer born 1896, was my grandfather. He had several brothers - Henry, John, Fritz and I think an additional one. Any direction would be appreciated!

Hey I think we might be connected! There are a few inlaws by the last name Lowery - last I heard they lived in Michigan somewhere! One odd one by the name of Dan or Daniel, do you know him?

I have a Pfeiffer in my family and have seen them numerous times in my census research for West Seneca, NY. My connection is through Henry Pfeiffer. Henry Pfeiffer (bd March 27, 1901) married my father's aunt. Her name was Alice Charlotte (maiden name Borchert) and they had three children, Howard Clyde, Arlene Marian, and Marjorie Ann. Henry Pfeiffer died April 2, 1977. If you are still looking for information I may be able to supply additional information off the census pages I have but I will have to look it up.

I also have a Meininger connection. Alice Charlotte's (Borchert), aunt Maria Sophia Dust was married to William Meininger. I have a little more information if you are interested.

Hello! I haven't been on the boards in quite some time so I just noticed your reply to my post. Yes, you have the right Henry from my line - though we called him mostly by his nickname Hank. I remember Uncle Hank and Aunt Alice very well. When Aunt Alice was alive she helped my mother with some of the family research on the Pfeiffers. I'd love to hear from you!

Surnames: Pfeiffer, Leisten, Pompeo
My mother's maiden name was Jane Evelyn Pfeiffer. Her father's name was Fred & my grandmother's name was Crystal (Leisten) Pfeiffer. They lived on a small truck farm on Seneca Creek Rd., in West Seneca, NY. My grandfather Fred was born in 1900. He was married to Evelyn Leisten for a number of years & had 4 children; Fritz, Betty, Rita & Marilyn. Evelyn took ill with cancer & died early on, then my grandfather married evelyn's sister, Crystal, my maternal grandmother. They raised four more children (Carolyn, Jane (my mom) Joan & Al) including those from Evelyn. Fred (grandfather) died in 1961. I don't know much more about the history of the Pfeiffer family. I remember going down to the creek in back of the property to wade in the water when I was a child. I believe it was part of the Buffalo Creek. I know that their neighbors were the Boyer's, & my Aunt Betty & Uncle Don Bodeckor lived on one side of my grandparents place. My mom, Jane Pfeiffer married my dad, Henry Pompeo in 1951. She died at 74 in 2008. I don't know how many of my mother's family is still alive since we did not stay in contact. It's nice to know that there are many Pfeiffers in the area yet. I just wish my mom would have shared more history with me while she was still alive.
