I am looking for a connection from the oshkosh pfaffenroths to relatives in new york and other states. My great, great grandfater was Philip pfaffenroth of oshkosh and was called king phillip, especially for his height back then. my grandmother is marie heller/paffenroth and her grandfather was phillip. her mother was katherine pfaffenroth and married conrad paffenroth. So actually i have two sides of the pfaffenroth to look for.

There are two places of connection for you to look at then. If you take Conrads history far enough back, you should see that the Pfaffenroths are linked to the Paffenroths through Lautenschlager. If you have questions or information, mail me at gizzmo5150@yahoo.com

I just happened to stumble onto this board and thought I'd let you know that my mother was an Oshkosh Pfaffenroth. Her father was Heinrich and he had brothers Philip, Conrad, and John, sisters Anna, Amilie(Molly) and Katherine(Kate). I have other info and would love to correspond about our common ancestors!

My grandfather Conrad Pfaffenroth and wife Katherine Weitz came to Oshkosh in 1907.
My father Henry Pfaffenroth was born there in 1909. We have records from the churh where Conrad attended and also of Henrys' baptism. There are a number of Pfaffenroth names on the church list of some of the pfaffenroths that we have little information on. We have tried to connect to the Pfaffenroth tree but we cannot go before 1878 with any degree of certainty. I am hoping to learn more about the Pfaffenroths in Wisconsin during that period. My GP lived in Oshkosh until around 1911, when they moved to Calgary Alberta.

If you look at the reply I sent today you will find some information about my Pfaffenroth ancestors who were in Oshkosh. You will notice that my Grandparents were Conrad and Katharine as well. Katharine Weitz. Conrad had one sister Elizabeth who came to Oshkosh around the same time. She married John Merkel and eventually moved to OLDS Alberta. They had a brother John who stayed in Russia. The family lost contact with John. Maybe he married and has a family somewhere? WE just don't know.

The Conrad Pfaffenroth that you mentioned may be the godparent of my father if, if he is the conrad that entered the church in 1903. If it was the same conrad who had a son Albert Pfaffenroth ,who was born on June 14, 1909. Alberts godparent was Katharine Pfaffenroth who may have been my grandmother . If you have the church register you can verify this information.

I happened to do a search on this surname b/c Henry PFAFFENROTH Jr. (machinist) of 309 Grant St. signed as a witness for my grandfather's naturalization papers. My grandfather Theodor Jakubiak lived on 289 Grant St. (now Bent Ave ?) in Oshkosh from the time of his immigration from Poland in 1912 til his death.
I know that my ggrandfather corresponded through letters with certain people so I am hoping that maybe his name sounds familiar to others. I am also willing to mail a copy of the document if anyone has interest.
Thank you
