I just found that my Grandfather Charles Jacob previously used the name Charles Jacobs 1880. He was listed in the 1880 census living with Frank Pfaffenbach. Of course, Frank is the English version of Franz. Charles was indentify as the son of Frank in the census. My family told me the originally name was a very long name German name that was lster changed. I am interested in hearing from you.
