Hi Robyn:

Perhaps I'm not much help. When I started this two years ago I was searching for either Poffenbach or Paffenbach.
A recent connection to a distant cousin has confirmed by marriage certificate that my GG-Grandmother was Catherine Pfaffenbach.

She was married to Julius Heuple. They were reportedly both born in Germany and came to the U.S. via Pennsylvania. They later ended up in Toledo, Ohio.

Catherine's husband Julius was a veteran of the American Civil War having served in the Union Army. He died at an early age, perhaps of wounds in Milwaukee.

Catherine died in 1921 in Toledo, Ohio.

That's about all I have.

Best of Luck

Wayne and Robyn,

Catherine's date of birth was November 23, 1839. She died November 5, 1921 of myocarditis following lobar pneumonia.

Her father was Adam Pfaffenbach. Her death certificate gives little else in the way of genealogy.

As Adam and Catherine are my GGG and GG grandparents respectively, I would like to have further dialog with both Robyn and Roseanne in their regard.

I have recently discovered potentially new information regarding both Adam and Catherine.

Thank You

I was just reading your post from awhile ago. My grandmother's maiden name was Bertha Phaffenbach(sp) and her mother was named Catherine . She came over from Germany in 1884 ( I think) with father Jacob, and sister Margaret and a brother named Ben. I think they settled in Baltimore and then came to Cleveland,Ohio. I can't find any Phaffenbach's so I was excited to see the name.

Diane,

This is your cousin, Rhonda that used to live next door to your parents. Wow, didn't expect to see your name here!

If you are doing research, please email back and we can catch up and exchange info.

Cool!

Diana- I see it's been a few years. I'm curious if you have any more information regarding Bertha Pfaffenbach or her parents Jacob Phaffenbach and Catherine Goebel? I'm working on a Lorenz Family tree. I have Bertha married to Otto Lorenz. Could we have the same line? Oddly enough, we just found out my husband's birth father's last name is DeVore! Please let me know. Thanks!
