Pfaffs from Hungary or Milwaukee, WI?
My great-grandfather, Peter Pfaff, was born in 1895 and emigrated to Milwaukee, WI in 1912. On the ship transcripts he lists his father Georg Pfaff as next of kin (residence was Sakafaf (?), Hungary). Peter married Pauline Duchek, another Hungarian immigrant, and they had four sons: Peter (Jr.), George, Robert, and Herbert. There is a cousin Julius who emigrated in the early 1950's, and apparently more relatives still in Hungary. I would love to hear any info others may have that fits this family tree! Thanks, Morgan Pfaff

Re: Pfaffs from Hungary or Milwaukee, WI?
I am looking for the family of a Herb (Herbert) Pfaff who had a son Darvin in Lancaster, WI in 1954. Darvin later married in 1974 in Crawford Co., Wisconsin to a young lady by the last name of Cleven. They were subsequently divorced and Darvin remarried in 1979 in Hancock, Wisconsin to Ginger Humphrey. Darvin has several siblings, among whom is a brother Terry who lives in the D.C. area where he (at least used to) works for the Defense Dept. Do you anything of this family that would help me piece together their family tree as a gift to my niece and nephews?

Re: Pfaffs from Hungary or Milwaukee, WI?
I'm afraid it seems we're looking for info on 2 different families - the Herb Pfaff in my family had 1 son named Kenneth, and lived his entire life in the Milwaukee area of Wisconsin. So far I haven't found any link with the Pfaffs who lived in central and northern Wisconsin, although I've met a number of them in the Black River Falls area. Sorry I couldn't help more; good luck with your search!

Re: Pfaffs from Hungary or Milwaukee, WI?
I don't know if you still check this? I am from Melrose, WI and we have a number of Pfaffs in the area. I know they are all interlinked way back somewhere, but there are 4 or 5 different family 'groups' now -- one that lives here in Melrose and run Pfaff Farms (my grandmother was related to them), one between Black River Falls and Blair, one south of Black River Falls (I think this is the one that has all the teachers in the BRF school district), one by Mindoro, and another by West Salem. Our family is also related to a bunch of Pfaffs that live in the Waupun/Rio/Markesan area northeast of Madison, WI. I am only beginning on my research, so any info you have to share would be wonderful.

Re: Pfaffs from Hungary or Milwaukee, WI?
Not sure if you will ever read this, Peter Pfaff is my great grandfather. Peter Jr is my grandfather. They were indeed from Hungary. Peter Pfaff Sr. opened a bakery in Milwaukee and it became the first chain of bakeries here. At a time they had approximately 10 stores. I have lots of photos.
