Here comes a Dietmar Pfaehler, who is still alive (53 years old), married, 3 children and a lot of knowledge about the Pfaehler's and their history in Germany. But there must be an early splitt (around the farmers revolution in 15xx) where lots of information about history got lost. Nevertheless, would be nice to here from you, Dietmar.

Re: German Tribe Pfaehler
I'm seeking information on my Pfaehler roots, with the hope that someone might be able to help. My GG Grandfather came into the US at NYC. He stayed in that area for most of his life. Much of the family stayed located in Jersey City and/or Nutley NJ for many years. My maternal Grandfather died in 1919 from influenza leaving a wife and two young daughters. One of the daughters, my mother, still alive, but she us unable to help with this research. I'm just taking a stab on the dark....one never know's....might get lucky. Re: German Tribe Pfaehler
Hi Kelly, I'm Jim's cousin, we share the same great grandfather Louis Pfaehler. The family is from the Jersey City, NJ area. Louis had a brother, Gustave who was married to a Freida Knodel. I believe her mother's first name was Charlotte. Gustave and Freida had two children, Freida (who married Stephen Tuite (pronounced tweet), he was a police officer). She died sometime in the late 1960s early 1970s in a auto accident on the Garden State Parkway in NJ and a son, Gustave Pfaehler who died about 18-19 yrs old in Asbury Park, NJ. I think I have more info on Freida Knodel's family, I've got to dig it up. I do remember one strange item - one adult and two children dying on the same day, don't know the cause. If you think there might be a connection, please let us know, I'd be more than happy to share what we've got. Christina Peterson Lane

Re: German Tribe Pfaehler
I am just seeing this post and am too related via my grandmother, Hazel Virginia Pfaehler to Emma Raduns Pfaehler. Do you have any more info on who is burried around the Pfaehler plot in Bay View? I no longer live in NJ and won't likely be going back any time soon.
I'm currently working on the Raduns and the Rittner families, but have run into some dead ends.
Thanks, Bill

Re: German Tribe Pfaehler
Hello Bill,
Your great grandfather, William and my grandfather, Raymond were brothers. I got a list of 13 about 15 yrs. ago from Bayview. Louis and Pauline (Seitz) Pfaehler are there. Their sons, Louis and Wilhemina (Rittner) - children who had died in infancy - Gertrude, Louis B., Mamie. Also, Gustave and Frieda (Knodel), their daughter - Frieda, son Gustave, son Frederick. And your G-grandfather, William.
I remember meeting Hazel once with Wilma about 40 years ago in Nutley, NJ. And I had seen Wilma and met her family back about 2002 when Jim had the Pfaehler reunion up in PA. Please contact me - would like to share info.

Re: German Tribe Pfaehler
Hello all, Jim mccolley from PA who was commenting on a this thread has recently passed. I came across this post as I myself was looking into the family lines. I know my gramps absolutely loved researching his family tree and he would often bring things up to show everyone.
