My grandfather was Herman Joseph Pfab b. 12-3-1895. He had 1 brother (Rudolf) and 2 sisters (Helen Marie) all born in USA. Their parents were Steven/Steffan Pfab b. (date unknown) in Black Forest, Germany (Ruhr Valley?) and mother was Anna Schmidt, born in Essen Germany. I do not know if we are related Terrie. This is all the information I ave on my Pfab ancestors. I do know that they lived in IL and I think in the Peru, LaSalle area. My Grandmother was Esther Christine nee Andersen who was born and raised in Chicago. I would love to hear from you if you have anymore info on the Pfabs! Thanks.

I have an image of the census card from which you got some of your information.

I think the name you are interpreting as Walbwrge is actually Walburga, named for a German saint from the 8th century. The woman you are referring to is the sister of Joseph Pfab, who married Frances Greiner. Their daughter Frances Matilda Pfab married Harry McDonald and had a daughter Marlene who was my mother.

I think we were in contact briefly sometime in the last decade.
