Pezet's from the Channel Isles
In reply to Jim Simon. I am a decendant of the Pezet family from the Channel Isles. I may be able to shed some light on John Pezet from Alderney, given some time. I know my father has quite a few details. I know that two brothers immigrated to Australia, in the 1800's. I am sure that one of the brothers names was Peter and the other John. All Pezet's in Australia, decend from these two brothers.

Re: Pezet's from the Channel Isles
I've just found this web site - am new to family tracing.
My Great Grandfather was John Pezet born in Alderney. He married Clara ALLEN in Keighley Yorkshire in 1886. I am trying to find out why he left Alderney to go to Leeds. I am also trying to establish his date of birth and death.
Family 'stories' tell a tale that a Pezet left the french army in disgrace and settled in Alderney.
I hope there may be some links or confirmation of details here. regards Rose Carter

Re: Pezet's from the Channel Isles
I am in New Zealand and also researching Pezet from Channel Islands that migrated to Australia and to New Zealand, as this family ties in with the names, Corbin, Simon, Robilliard, Le Messurier. In a letter dated 30 March 1907, Josephg Naftel writes to Mrs Corbin, "I hope to hear soon from Mrs Pezet whose father was LeMessurier and her mother - Corbin your sister in law, she married Peter Tardif (?) Pezet, ..." Mrs Corbin was My grand mother. I have an interest in Marie Pezet, and Walter Pezet in Victoria and New South Wales Australia respectively.

Re: Pezet's from the Channel Isles
I am related to Peter Pezet who came into Dunedin, New Zealand, married to someone by the christian name of Ann, purchased land and built a house on the corner of Anderson Bay Road and Oxford St (a funeral directors there now). They had a daughter by the name of Annie Elizabeth and her second marriage was to a Benjamin Lewis Collett who was my great grandfathers brother. They have a descendant still living in Dunedin.
