Hi, My name is Wally Caviness and I am trying to find info on my great Aunt Addie Elizabeth(Lizzie) Caviness Pewett. She was the daughter of THOMAS MATTHEW CAVANESS and MARY E. CARNEY. She was probably born around 1876 in Texas Co. Mo near Licking and Success.
I have pictures of her, her sister LULU, her brothers Bert, William (Willie), Jasper(Jake) and my grandfather John Franklin. I also have a picture labeled Julia Pewett who is standing next to Uncle Bert.. After Aunt Lizzie's mother died all the children were given to her mother's relatives. They never new that their father Thomas Matthew later married at least two or more times. She would have had about 9 or more half brothers and sisters. I met one of them who lived in Success, Mo. in 1993. His name was Rufus Cavaness. My cousin in Boliver, Mo., Betty Jean Smith and her mother Ruby Caviness visited with him. He is buried near his father in the Caviness Cem. between Success and Licking.
