Hi!
I am also related to this family, I'm descended from Elizabeth's brother and have been trying to trace all the members of this family who moved to Lanarkshire about 1840.
I'd really really love to hear from you! Where did you find Elizabeth's birth date? So far I've traced 7 children for Elizabeth and Michael, just using the censuses and haven't managed to get them any further forward.
Please get in touch,
regards,
Katrina

Hi Katrina I was in contact with a distant Kennedy relitive who sent me all the information. He has researched the PEW KENNEDY Decentants. Did you know Elizabeth had three children before she married Michael Kennedy. I know the children they had together went to New Zealand.Hope this has been of use to you I have more info that maybe of use to you . Hope to hear from you soon. regads. Agnes.

Hi Agnes,
Sorry I never replied to that last mesage you sent me. For some reason I never got it. I've actually just found it while doing random searches on google. I never knew Elizabeth had three children. I only have one for her "Janet" born 13 November 1861, reputed father Alexander Robb who was 45 at the time and Elizabeth only 22. I only have Janet traced up to the 1881 census, where she is listed as her grandmother's daughter. Who were her other two children? Very interesting about the New Zealand connection, I'll look into that.
Thanks, sorry again about the very, very, late reply.

Hi Agnes! I wrote a post speaking to you without twigging it was you! lol! (Agnes is my aunt Katrina - my dad's sister). I didn't know you still had all of John Kennedy's info - I just remember that he phoned you years ago after he phoned our house. I am gutted I lost the package he sent me :( If I could look at yours when I'm down next week that'd be great. I have spent a lot of time lately trying to get further back than ROBERT SHANKS and have been told that there are still PUES who attend a church in the Kilkeel area of County Down to this day. PUES and PUGHS keep coming up in searches for that area of County Down both before 1841 (the time that we know that Thomas PEW and family had emigrated to Lanarkshire) and after that date (specifically Annalong and Mullartown). There are no other mentions of that family name in any other area of County Down but of course I speak of only what I can find online. I have written to PRONI and churches within that area in the hope of finding out more. I have also joined the Ulster Historical Foundation online today. I have everything crossed and will be in Ireland for the first time ever at the end of this month so perhaps I will come up with something for us. :)
