I would like to ask those that are descendants of John Pevehouse and Martha or as I am John Pevehouse and Kisiah to help me locate his grave or an obit or news clipping about his death. I have searched Navarro county for some time now with no luck. I know where Kisiah is buried but I have not found Martha yet. He may be buried next to her.I think he may have died around 1858. Martha died before 1852. Please help any way you can and I will do the leg work in Navarro county.

The only reference that I have seen in print is on the LDS web site for Pevehouse. The story in Navarro county is that her name was Roberts and that her family was in Limestone county.

Hi,
I'm Charlotte Pevehouse and I am from the limestone county pevehouses. My grandfather was John W. Pevehouse. His father was also John Pevehouse. Both are buried in Lost Prairie cemetary in personville Texas. The elder John Pevehouse. My great grandfather does not have a grave marker but my grandmother knows where he is located.
Hope this helps.
Charlotte

I would like more information about your John W. Pevehouse. Do you have a birthdate and deathdate and which John was his father?

I now have the proff I was looking for in 1999 that Martha married to my John Pevehouse was indeed Martha Roberts. Her father Andrew Roberts lists her in his will as Martha Pevehouse. Her mother moved to Limestone County after her fathers death in 1844.

How could the elder john not have been given a marker? He left his children a great legacy & fought in the Texas revolution?? Can we please remedy this by having the state of Texas get involved?
