I just found the daughter of my 2 great grandfather--Franzeska Utschig--married to
Julius Petersen/Peterson. Julius, according to
New York census records, was born Jun 1834 in Hamburg; married about 1860, most likely in
New York, and died before the 1910 census.
As per the 1900 and 1910
New York, Manhattan Borough, censuses, Franzeska had 9 children, 3 living. I found the following children: (1)John
Peterson, born Jun 1861, New York; (2)
Julius Peterson, born about 1865, New York; (3) William and/or Charles
Peterson, born about 1869, New York; (4) Louis
Petersen, born 15 Apr 1872, New York; (5) Harry
Peterson, born Feb 1876, New York; probably died Apr 1963, New York; married Mary __ about 1897 and had 2 children--Harry
Peterson, born Feb 1898, New York; and Florence
Peterson, born about 1905, New York; Mary died before the 1910 census; (6) Mary
Peterson, born May 1880,
New York.
Julius immigrated about 1855, as per the census records; and Franzeska, his wife, immigrated about 1854/1856, as per the census records.
Anyone with information about this family, I would love to hear from.
By the way,
Julius Petersen and Franzeska
Utschig Petersen were first found on the extracted christening record of their son Louis (4th child) with their surname spelled
Petersen. On most of the census records, it was spelled "son" on the end.
