Hi all, I'm the daughter of Val Christinkl(nee Peterkin).My grandfarther Mark Peterkin is still living here in ont canada, My Uncle Don Peterkin looked into the familt history abit and found that we are of Scottis decend, and that the movie braveheart had something to do with the "peterkins" as for how the story goes as he's told me, When the english came after the scotts many of them just started going by their first names and that Peterkin came from one of the men's first name being Peter and if you were related to him they would just say Peters kin, later be coming Peterkin, they did this so no lastnames were used so they couldn't be caught. And its nice to know that there are so many Peterkins out there, and of diffrent races, I'll try to find out more from my uncle or even get him on here to tell all he knows.
