I believe that the Benjamin Perry who was born in 1786 in Lincoln, Massachusetts (son of John Perry and Abigail Bigelow), who died in 1851 in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County, NY, was a different person from Benjamin Perry, born about 1788 in Hancock, Massachusetts, died after 1855, when in Andover, Allegany County, NY. I think I've been responsible for some of the confusion. In 1820, there were two Benjamin Perrys in Schaghticoke. One had one male child under 10, the other, listed as "Perry, Benjamin 2" had 3 male children under 10. The latter matches the family record of the Benjamin who settled in Andover. This latter Benjamin had three sons born 1814-1818, one of them named Heman. Heman was the name of a son that Abner Perry had by his second wife Lydia. The Benjamin who was born in 1786 in Lincoln, MA, stayed in Schaghticoke until his death. I hope this clears this mess up a little.
