Margaret
Johnson Perkins Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandma Margaret went to be with her
Lord in his eternal resting place in
Heaven united with her family that had preceded her.
In addition to her parents were her husband James H. Perkins who died in 1966, her son David R. who passed away in 1982 at the age of 37 and her infant grandson Scott S. Perkins in 1970. Margaret was born in
Erie, Pa. on April 13, 1915 and was the only child of
Nimrod and
Augusta Benson Johnson. She lived in
Erie her entire life and graduated from Academy High School. She then worked at the Hammermill Paper Co. until she married James H. Perkins on Sept. 1, 1941. Her son James R. Perkins was born exactly one year later on Sept. 1, 1942. He was followed by another son David R. Perkins on April 17, 1945. Margaret spent most of her married life as a mother and homemaker until the untimely death of her husband in 1966 at the age of 50. Margaret then went to work as an executive secretary at Superior Bronze
Corp. retiring in 1977. Margaret was a life long member of
Bethany Swedish Lutheran Church and dearly loved her
Bethany and it's Swedish
VASA Organization. Margaret enjoyed playing Scrabble, Pinochle, Canasta and in earlier years traveling with her dearest friends
Pat and Evelyn. Margaret is survived by one son James R. Perkins and his dear partner and companion Jane Leone of Millcreek with whom Margaret resided in her later years. She will be dearly missed by her six grandchildren, Ronald

Boetger of
Hampton, Va., Brian
Perkins and wife Jennifer of
Ashburn, Va., Garry
Perkins and his companion Chris
Fazekas of
Treasure Lake, Pa., Kristen

Bonacci of Long Island, N.Y. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Brandon and Brionna
Boetger, Tyler, Kylie and Aviona
Perkins. Friends may call Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St. A service will be held there Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard K. Schultz officiating. Burial will be at
Erie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the
Bethany Outreach Center, c/o
