I am trying to find out some information on my aunt`s late husband. I know he was from the cincinnati area. He was born June-22-1925 and died November-1955. I was told that he killed himself.

I'm keeping a database of all the Perchments I can find, and so far, I've only found SSDI info.

Hi Bonnie-
I have a William Perchment I'm trying to make a connection to. Here is what I have:
Perchment, William b. abt 1926 to George William b. 9 Dec 1895 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH and Helen A. Kreiger b. abt 1903 in OH. George was the son of Henry Leonard Perchment b. Nov 1871 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH and Margaret "Mamie" (Mary) Kearsey. George's siblings were Henry "Harry" b. 14 Apr 1892 and Clara Katherine b. 1 Aug 1899. Clara Katherine is my GGrandmother and she was married to Charles Forrest Edwards of Cincinnati.
They have been my roadblock for quite some time. I hope this helps you in some way.

Mike, I think the pieces are starting to fit together.

I just read in the Montgomery, Ohio message board that Helen A. Kreiger passed away in March. The obit stated that William her son preceeded her in death .

This must be the same William that Bonnie was referring to.

Helen A. Kreiger Perchment married George Perchment. They had a child William. Helen passed away early this spring, the obit mentioned that a son William had preceeded her in death.

This must be the same William.

Your aunt married William? What was her name? Did they have any children?

Paul,
William's wife's name was Ruby Dean. They had two children, Patrick and Sherry. The children were adopted by Ruby's second husband, Harold Schroder.

It's been a while and I was going back through some email and notes.

As I mentioned I'm gathering everything I can about the Perchments.

Do you know anymore about your Aunt Ruby's first marriage, perhaps where and when? Was her maiden name Dean?

I don't want to pry into touchy areas, but how old were the children when they were adopted?

This is very interesting because the Perchment name has basically stopped. I have not found anyone who still carries the family name.

If I understand it, there were the 2 children born as Perchments, but later adopted by Harold Schoder- very interesting.

One more, and how are you related? Sorry for so many quetions.

Sorry I Don't have alot of info about Bill and Ruby. You are right, it is a touchy subject were my aunt is concerned. However, Sherry, who is my 1st cousin (Ruby and my mother were sisters)May be able to talk to her mom and find out more. Sherry lives in Troy, as well as her brother Pat and his Family. I'll make it a point to get up there and see her as soon as the weather breaks.
Dean was the last name of Ruby. Her family was from Brown and Highland Counties of Ohio.Her Father's name was Harry and her mother's name was Velma (Williams) Dean.
Ruby and Bill had two Children together. Sherry was Born in 1953, Pat was born in 1954 or 1955. Not sure when Ruby Married Hearld Schroeder, But they had their first child in 1956, that died a very short time after being born. their next child Cindy was born in 1957 and their last child ,Gary was born abour 1958 or 59.

According to research I have done for the last 30 years on the Parchman ancestry, William Perchment (born 1925) had the following lineage:
George William Perchment (born ~1893)
Henry Leonard Perchment (born 1871)
William Perchment (born ~1830)
Peter Perchment (born 1801)
Peter Parchman/Perchment (born 1755)
Nicholas Parchman/ Parchment (born about 1730-1735 presumably in Germany)

Nicholas presumably had 4 sons. John and Philip (with the name Parchman) moved to middle Tennesse about 1789. Jacob was scalped by Indians in West Virginia in 1785, and Peter (named Parchman and Perchment in war records and pension applications) remained behind in Pittsburgh, where he was a pioneer of the city, having fought for Virginia (which claimed Fort Pitt) in the Revolution. One of Peter's daughters (Mary Perchment Forsythe) was an ancestor of the Mellons apparently. The Perchment family was on the social register in Pittsburgh around 1870 to 1900. One of Peter's grandsons married the daughter of the owner of the largest department store in Pittsburgh.
