NGSQ - Name listed on Rev. tablet in Beulah Church. Mary D. his wife 1770-1850
KEAN - At Historical Society of Western Pa. is a letter dated 6/10/1922 from the Adjutant Generals Office to C.R. Thrayer... indicting that Peter Perchment served in the Rev. War as a Private in Capt. James Sullivan's Company & in Major Taylor's 13th Va. Regiment (which became the 9th Va. Regiment in 1778) commanded at different times by Col. Wm. Russell & Col. John Gibson. He enlisted 1/1/1777 for 3 years or for the war. On muster roll for the period Oct 1778 to Mar 1779 dated Fort Pitt, April 5, 1779 was reported wounded at Fort Lawrence. On weekly return of that regiment stationed at Fort Lawrence, dated Feb. 8, 1779 was reported wounded by Indians at Cooshachking since last return. His name last appears on muster roll for Oct, Nov, Dec. 1799 dated Fort Pitt Feb. 13, 1780 with the remark "Absent sick". A Federal report by the Secretary of War to Congress shows him ranked as private, was paid at Virginia Agency an annual allowance of $40 beginning Sept. 4, 1789. The Council Journal of Virginia dated Oct 15, 1789 notes the governor directed Peter Perchment be continued on pension list with 12 pounds per annum from Jan. 1786. Peter Perchment married Mary E, Powell April 12, 1790 with Justice of the Peace Rudolph Stotler of Pitt Twp. officiating. She was born 1769. In 1792 he was Capt. of volunteer corps of Scouts & later was Capt. in 5th Co. of 2nd Regt. of the Allegheny Co. Brigade of Militia. He died Feb. 12, 1844.
