Sorry it's been so long in responding, we've had some problems/challenges with our internet provider!!! We think everything is working now.

What else do you know about Clara Katherine Perchment?

We've traced our Perchments back, but have not done alot bringing the families forward to know the decendants.

We've spoken to a few other decendants but have not gathered a lot of info.

- George William Perchment b. Dec 9, 1892 in Hamilton County, Cincinnati, OH d. Dec 12, 1963 in Montgomery County, Dayton, OH married Helen A.
- Clara Katherine Perchment b. Aug 1899 d. abt 1962 married Charles Forest Edwards

- Ella Mae Edwards (unconfirmed)
- Mary Edwards (unconfirmed)

That's about all I have been able to gather....using internet and birth/death certificates I was able to obtain. My Dad's family haven't been much help in any info about the Edwards' or Perchment families. My father's father is unknown and my Grandmother married Mr. Hutchinson soon after he was born. Most of my Dad's siblings are Hutchinson's so most of the Edwards/Perchment info is lost with time. So, I'm starting from scratch hoping to get lucky.
Hope this helps and you can pass along any info about your Perchment side. Would love to know how far you have gotten.
Hope to hear from you soon....

Thanks for the info. The names you mentioned are new names, not ones we have known about. The family we know about are in and around Allegheny Co. Pennsylvania.

As I have been searching the surname, I do see Perchments up in the Ohio area. Not sure how/where/when they connect.

We'll keep looking though.
If your interested, I'm putting what I find on a web site-
www.perchment.tripod.com

I'd would be glad to add anything you want there as well.

I did find a couple of Perchment people in the internet "white pages" and I've sent them a letter. We had been told that the surname has died out, but it appears there are a few around.

Paul,
Hi! Been awhile....
I've found a listing for a William Perchment born in PA. Do you have this individual in your line who may have moved to OH? His wife's name was Oriminal (sp?) no last name.
Thanks,
Mike

HI
Peter Perchment (Parchman) b. 1754, was a brother to my ancestor Phillip, b. 1758, who had moved on to Montgomery/Lawrence Co., Tn by 1790. With John Parchman, they were sons of Nicholas--first discovered / named in a militia muster in Frederick Co., Va., 27 Oct 1758. From his Veteran's Pension application of 1828, we find that Peter lost his land in Pa. from a bail forfeiture for his nephew (we believe), James Amberson, around 1818 - 1820. Peter's brother-in-law, James Amberson, d. 1812, Butler Co. Pa. I need details of the court records involving that proceeding--if you can help? The 1749 birthyear on Peter's tombstone is in error. Thanks--Ken

Hi Michael

Wondering if you have any family genealogy for Peter Perchment (Parchman) of Allegheny Co., Pa. I am a descendant of Peter's brother, Phillip (using the "Parchman" version). Peter's wife, Mary Powell, was a sister to Martha who married James Amberson (d'cd 1812) of Butler Co., Pa. James' son, James, married Phillip's daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Parchman, b. 1796 in Robertson Co., Tn. That James died ca 1820 after only about 5 yrs of marriage and two children with Betsy: a son and a daughter--another James, b. 1816 and Eliza, b. 1818. This James is my line. Peter, Phillip and John were sons of Nicholas Perchment (Perchmon). Nicholas was called to a militia muster in Frederick Co. Va. 27 Oct 1758. Probably the birthplace of Peter (1754-55) and Phillip (1758). Peter lost his land in a bail forfeiture ca 1816-1818 for James Amberson according to Peter's Veteran's Pension application in 1828. Do you have any information about that bail case or events surrounding the case? Thanks Ken New Braunfels, Texas 78130
