Seeking family history on the Perabo family from Lorch, Germany. My grandfather is Philip Perabo. He was born in Lorch, Germany 10/03/1888 and came to the USA in 1909.
He is the son of Valentin Perabo and grandson of Jacob Perabo. I have quite a bit of information but am seeking more.

I am researching my uncle's family tree for him.

I have traced his ancestors back to Jacob Franz II Perabo (b. cir 1812), who emigrated with his wife Maria Eva (Korb) and children from Lorch/Lorchhaussen to Australia in 1854 aboard the "Caesar".

Are you able to share your information on the Lorch Perabo's.

If the families link up, I can provide you with the details of the decendants in Australia.

Many thanks.

Hi there,
I am from Australia . Jacob & Maria Perabo are my GG grandparents, their daughter Christina is my G grandmother, she had my Grandfather Samuel. Please email me my address is
ppbrown2000@yahoo.com
We are related, I only found out that Christina was German and they came out to Australia in 1855 on the ship Caesar, I have been trying to find information, when I came upon you, this is fantastic you may be able to shed some light on my ancestors.
I am so excited.
Kind Regards,
Pam

I just discovered this "board" so I might be out of luck since the latest post was 2006. I'll try anyway. Some of my Perabos, from what I can tell, settled in the St. Louis, MO area and most with that name trace back to Germany. I have been told that Perabo is a Portuguese name but I have had zero luck in any of my genealogy searching to find this to be true. It doesn't strike me as German so I'm guessing they migrated to Germany. Can anyone go back far enough to verify pre-German locations?

Hello,
My name is Chuck Wilds. If you have a relative in the St. Louis area with the surname Perabo, then we must be related. All of the Perabos in St. Louis are likely relatives of Frederick W. Perabo or Phillip Perabo (my grandfather). If you can tell me how you think you are related to the Perabos, I will be glad to help you. Please let me know, as I just don't want to give out information at random.
Chuck

My History goes to pre 1660. I can trace to German and Italian roots, but I have no Portugese records.

Hi Billwheeler77,
it is some time passed since your post but my husband's grandmother's mother is Christine Perabo who came from Lorch in Germany. No doubt you have seen the Eden-Monaro Pioneers Database - what a great lot of work!
