Thank you so much for this extensive research.

My gg grandmother is Hannah Peoplesdorph of Hunterdon b. abt 1838 -- she is in the 3rd generation of your chart.

After 1st husband Nathan Myers died she married Samuel B. Soden on 13 Oct. 1863. Rev. John Coit in Clinton Township married them at the Clinton Parsonage.

They went on to have Margaret Soden (Smith) 1864, Susan Soden (Rhoades)1866, Chares Soden (my gg grandfather) 1871 and Eliza Soden (Jones) 1875.

Hannah was alive as of 1898 when Samuel applies for veterans pensions but she has most likely died by 1900 when he is living with Charles and family in Staten Island, NY.

Any birth or other information on Hannah would be appreciated. I see from your research you have her marriage date to Myers on 4 Mar 1858 in Franklin Twp, Hunterdon CO.

Do you know what nationality Peoplesdorph is?

Thank you for your information on Daniel's wife. My grandmother was Hazel Caroline Peoplesdorph, daughter of Charles H and Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Edmonds Peoplsdorph. She was born on May 2, 1897 and died January 15, 1995. Hazel married William Taylor Seal in 1917. Hazel was William's 2nd wife, his first wife died of Tuberculosis 2 years before. He was a brakeman on the railroad and later a machinist. Hazel had four children, all boys, with her first husband and one child, a girl, with her second. Of the 4 boys, only three survived to adulthood and only my father and his half sister are living today. William died in 1930 of bladder cancer. I'm trying to find the date's of her 2nd marriage and hopefully my Aunt can help me. Her 2nd husband was Ellis Lipscombe who was born in Canada in 1899 and I think immigrated to this country in 1928.He died in April 1966.
If you'd like any other information please email me at: finglefloot@yahoo.com
Thanks again.

I'm looking at Peoplesdorf from a Trimmer perspective.

More Records of Old Hunterdon County, Vol. 2, by Phyllis B. D'Autrechy, Flemington, NJ: Hunterdon County Historical Society, 2000, p. 205:
"On 25 Dec. 1817 John H. Trimmer was surety for Aaron Trimmer, mason of Kingwood Township, who was accused of being the father of the unborn child of Esther/Easter Popplesdorf, daughter of Matthias Popplesdorf, single woman of Kingwood Township. (Affidavit 109 and Recog. 1366)"

Hester, Esther, Easter, and Hetty Peoplesdorf are the same person. She appears in numerous census records living with the Green family as an insane pauper. I have no evidence of what happened to her unborn child. Do you know?

Thanks for sharing that news. I was not aware of this.

If that presumably illegitimate child was born and lived past infancy, it may have been the male identified in the 1830 census for Mathias Peoplesdorf. So far, I've only found evidence of 3 children born to Mathias and Rebecca (Moore) Peoplesdorf. I suspect they had more than the 3, but no evidence to my knowledge has been found to date to prove that. Still the 1830 and 1840 census records clearly show a larger family given their other 2 known offspring, Daniel and Mary, married before the 1830 census was taken.

Summary of 1830 and 1840 census records:

*************************

1830 United States Federal Census > NJ > Hunterdon > Kingwood

Household of Mathias Peoplesdorf

1 Male <5 (UNKNOWN)
1 Male 10<15 (UNKNOWN) [Esther's son?]
1 Male 30<40 (UNKNOWN)
1 Male 70<80 (Mathias, father)
2 Females 15<20 (UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN)
1 Female 80<90 (Rebecca, mother)

Note: Esther was about 34 years of age when the 1830 census was taken. So either she was captured under one of the two UNKNOWNS in the age group of 15 to 20 in error or she was living elsewhere. If Esther had a child out of wedlock in about 1817-1818, and she was still with her parents, then the UNKNOWN Male between 10-15 could be her child, who would have been 13-14 years of age at the time.

Hi cousin Victoria,

Milton's first name was Alfred (or Alford, but I think this was a misinscription error). Your line in my family tree currently ends with Elizabeth "Betty" Hann (b. ~1927, NJ), daughter of Alfred Milton Hann and Elizabeth Schmehl. I would welcome exchanging info to fill in your branch of the family and hopefully expand your knowledge of your heritage. (Note: I do not post our family tree, I share it with family directly).

Please let me know your email ID and I'll send you have I have.

Cheers,

Michael

Hi Michael,

I am in the process of re-typing a family tree document from the mid-1900s that was done on a typewriter. It is hard to read, and I am not sure that the dates are 100% accurate (as I do not know where my great grandfather got the information from in the first place). However, I can share it with you once its completed. My email address is vad210@nyu.edu if you have documents you think would help me expand/clarify my tree. I also live in Hunterdon County and am hoping to go look at some old records at some point to see if I can find anything interesting.

Thanks!
