I am searching for any information regarding Charles William Pennington born 6/1/1864 in Missouri. I have been able to locate him (age 16) in the 1880 Census in Missouri living with a Henry Butts. Rumor is that Henry lived with a William Ellzey as a foster child. I can only assume that the stories I have heard about Charles living with a family by the name ELY (could have easily been Ellzey) when he was a toodler are true after finding him with Henry and before that finding Henry with William Ellzey's family) I have not been able to find Charles prior to the 1880 census. This census shows that his parents were born in Ohio. I can account for Charles from 1880 until his death in 1947. My only hope is to possibly find Charles in an 1870 census....somewhere in between Ohio and Missouri. Seems this Ellzey family traveled along. Their children were born in Maryland, Indiana, Missouri....
