BIRMINGHAM – Joyce Noland, 52, formerly of Sulligent, Ala., died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at her home. She was born March 21, 1955, in Lamar County, Ala., to the late Isaiah J.D. and Annie Vivian Pennington Noland. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church and a 1973 graduate of Sulligent High School. She was employed by Costco in Birmingham and was formerly employed by McCoy Manufacturing, Healthtex, NAACO and Wal-Mart. She enjoyed reading, writing and sewing.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Otts Funeral Home Chapel in Sulligent with the Rev. E.L. Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Gilmer Addition of the Sulligent City Cemetery.
Survivors include her special friend, Cornelius Ayers of McCalla, Ala.; three daughters, Marishia Noland (Rodney) Paul of Sunrise, Fla., Christi Noland of Tampa, Fla., and Keionna Hackman of Sulligent; five grandchildren, Xavier Barton, Tamra Taylor, Rodney Paul Jr., Roddia Paul and Noel Moxey; two brothers, Douglas Noland of Sulligent and Theodore Pennington of Aberdeen; one sister, Voloria Noland of Chicago; a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Friday.
