PONTOTOC – Mamie Pennington, 88, of Pontotoc, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union County. She was a homemaker who loved the Lord, her children, her family and gospel music. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Tutor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hamilton and the Rev. Carl Teel officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Forest Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Vesta Wood of Pontotoc; one son, Dexter Pennington (Linda) of Pontotoc); three grandsons, Gary Moorman (Judi), Jeff Moorman and Kaleb Pennington, all of Pontotoc; one granddaughter, Donna Brown (Steve) of Pontotoc; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Arlis and Carol Bagwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Linda Bagwell; her husband, J.N. Pennington; three brothers, William, Albert and Edward Bagwell; and two sisters, Alma Watts and Leaon Bagwell.
Pallbearers will be Billy Bagwell, Kelly Bagwell, Ricky Bagwell, Steve Brown, Zachary Grubbs and Chad Bagwell.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
