Oscar and Sudie Pendergraft

Thank you for your reply. My name is Betty Pendergraft King. My grandfather, Hugh, was Ellis Webb's son from his first marriage to Martha Mattie Fletcher. I live in Noble, OK, 30 miles south of OKC. I would love to have any info that you have on Ellis. My dad (Lester) and I have visited Ellis' gravesite in Sedan. There is no headstone that we could find, but I took a picture of my dad in the area where Ellis supposely was buried. I have visited Barry Co., MO, several times and found the headstones for Ellis' dad, Joseph James (J. J.) and his father, Thomas in the Roller Cemetery in McDonald County. What is your name and the name of the person who is related to Ellis? Thank you, B

Ellis Webster Pendergraft was my husband's grandfather and I have an extensive family history on him. Hisz second wife wasMatilda Scribner. There is alot of family in southwest Mo, and many buried in local cemetaries. Ellis Webster is buried in Sedan, Kansas. I will be glad to share what I have and there are others that is tracing other branches of the Pendergraft Tree.

Sharon, I assume you are Glen's daughter. My dad is Lester. He passed away on March 2, 2009. I have quite a bit of info on Ellis Webb. He was not married to Emma Mary Spencer. She was married to Ulysses Jones and they were the parents of Florence Jones, Hugh's wife. Ellis was married to Martha Mattie Fletcher and they had two boys, Hugh and Laurance. I'm not sure if this is my line anymore. Bertha Pendergraft who married Fred Wilson are my grandparents but I am not sure about the rest. I have been trying to get my grandmother's death certificate but have not received it yet. I need that to see if her father's name is listed. No one in my family has it. It's so frustrating.

I talked with my mother this morning and elizabeth and raymond were her uncle and aunt. there mother wasthe second wife of james thomas. my grand mother was by the 1st wife emily casey who died when my grandmother was 2years old. then he married margaret maudine pearce. they had 8 children.

Pendergraft reunion

The 11th annual Pendergraft Reunion will be held on May 27,2006 at Roaring River State Park in Cassville. We will be in the same pavilion that we have been at for the last two years. For those of you who have not been there before it is the one that sits right beside the road. There will be signs up to show you. Our meal will begin at noon, But.... We have the pavilion for the entire day, so so please come early, or plan on staying a while so we can visit. Our meal will be potluck. Please bring serving utensils.

What to bringPlenty of food. bottles of pop, jars of tea, or lemonaide, etc. Please do not bring alcoholic drinks. Bring your lawn chairs, cameras, camcorders, Most of all bring yourself and your family. If you have pictures of former reunions bring them along and lets compare them.

What not to bring. plates, silverware, napkins,cups, tablecoverings, ice... all of this is provided.

I believe the correct spelling of his name is "Mervyn" Leslie Pendergraft.The family names of children and wife of Mervyn L. Pendergraft are listed on the RootsWeb site.

Just search for Mervyn Leslie Pendergraft when you logon.

Isam Pendergraft married Lona McVey in Izard County. In 1920 census they with son Muncy? are in Izard County, in 1930 they show up in Benton County. Isam died about 1932 and Lona died about 1939. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. Isam was my mother's uncle.

PENDERGRAFT - NEWSPAPERS

Hi: For some time now, I have been typing Barry Co., MO, newspaper items. I now have posted the years 1890 through 1913. And in among the listings there were a lot of Pendergraft surnames.

I am typing on the 1914 ones now and when I have the project finished it will go through 1921. But there are already a lot of papers listed and tons of information that will interest researchers of Barry Co., MO and the surrounding areas.

There is a search engine on the front page, and you will probably need it - but if you just want to walk through them, then just go down the page and you will see listed the Barry Co., MO Newspaper project.

Regarding Dr. Jesse Pendergraft

Hopefully you have found the answer to your question by now. However, In case you have not:
Dr. Jesse Pendergraft bn Jul. 3, 1868 - died Aug. 11, 1943 at Stidham, OK was youngest son Of Thomas and Emily Pendergraft.
I have more information if you wish.

Just found this website & this reply. My grandfather was James Arian (B:12/6/1876). I believe this is his twin. I have had a hard time piecing the family from Henry on down.

Oops, I show Cora Bell Pendergraft married O. W. Downum but I also show Cora Alice Pendergraft married O. W. Downum. The first was the daughter of James Thomas and Emily and the second was the daughter of Joseph Lindon Pendergraft and Sarah Newberry. Was this info right or was there a typo on my part?

How does your line tie into Albert Ross Downum and Lizzie Pearce? Emily Casey was the first wife of James Thomas Pendergraft and I was kin to the second wife and to James Thomas Pendergraft.

my grandmother maiden name was cora alice pendergraft her parents were james thomas pendergraft her mother maiden name emily casey she died when my grand mother was 2 years old. they lived in eufalla oklahoma until my grand father oscar downum died and my grandmother moved her five choldren to california.

my mother is now 75 years old and she is looking for hergrandmother but she doesn't know her first name as she died when she was very young but she thinks her name was casey in the 1800 leaving my grand mother an orphan. my great grandfather's name was thomas pendergraft and they lived in stidehm oklahoma then eufalla he died i think in 1898 and is burried in the fame cemetary in fame oklahoma.
