Pendergrass of Virginia and the Carolinas by Allen Pendergraft of Sedona, AZ pg 1, gives wife as MARY HENRI b. Abt. 1640 in Ireland d.September 15, 1715 in Christ Church Re, Middlesex Parish., VA
"Source: Pendergrass of Virginia and the Carolinas by Allen Pendergraft of Sedona, AZ.
"Came to the United States in about 1668, settling in Virginia.
"He immigrated in 1668/69 to to VA from IRL (via ENG).
"Tradition from the family of Dr. Charles Augustus Pendergrass, Jr., of Richmond is that the first immigrant was from Ireland originally but sailed to Virginia from England, that he brought two sons with him, and that a son or brother of the Immigrant remained behind. James was probably born by 1640 if the father of at least two sons in 1669, as professional genealogists use 26 as the average age of a father at birth of first child when the father's age is unknown. James arrived 1668/69, meaning 1668 Old Style calendar, 1669 New Style used today.
"James might have been the son of Philip Prendergast of the 1643, 1647, and 1655 Charles City, VA, Land Grants, as Philip is the only Prendergast of record in Virginia before James, but Philip apparently did not remain in Virginia."

They had six children:
1. MICHAEL Pendergrass (PRENDERGRASS) b. 1664 in Ireland d. Aft. 1690 m. 1684 in Northumberland Co., VA to Rebecca Bolling b. 1664 in Ireland. (three children?) [my line - Wendie Pendergraft Thomas] Does anyone have any proof of this marriage?

Allen Pendergraft of Sedona, AZ. Pendergrass of Virginia and the Carolinas. Sedona, AZ by the Author, 1977. pg. 1 - " We believe John married into the PLEASANTS family because descendants of both his sons use the given name William Pleasant(s) many times thereafter, doubtless harking back to a maternal line. The PLEASANTS family in Virginia descend from John PLEASANTS (Plaisance), Hugenot, b. 1644/5 Norwich, England, d. 1698 Henrico Co., VA, and Jane Larcome, widow of ____ Tucker. Proved children are: John PLEASANTS d. 1725/6 Henrico Co., m. Martha Cocke; and Elizabeth PLEASANTS of Henrico Co., m. James Cocke. There must have also been a William PLEASANTS whose daughter married John(3) Pendergrass. See Edward PLEASANTS Valentine papers. (Anyone know what these are? Wendie Thomas asks)
B. Daughter Pendergraft b. Abt. 1687
C. Daughter Prendergast b. 1688

2. James Pendergrass (Prendergrast) b. 1666 in Ireland d. December 05, 1705 Northfarnham Parish, Richmond, VA. m. Mary Unknown. (five children?)

3. Unknown Pendergrass b. 1668 in Virginia or Ireland. m. Bartholomew Dorsey (0 children)?

4. Unknown Pendergrass b. 1670 in VA or Ir. d. in Virginia, m. John Smith (0 children)?

5. Unknown Pendergrass b. in Ireland (source: Ancestral File NS8S-30, _UID: 68A5813BD91F374DACAEE4E8168753106B39)

6. John Pendergrass (Prendergast) b. Aft. 1669 in Virginia or Ireland (source Pendergrass of Virginia and the Carolinas by Allen Pendergraft of Sedona, AZ)

Any idea where I can get a copy of the book mentioned below by Allen Pendergraft?

From the little I have investigated I am also a descendant of James Pendergraft.
