Looking for information on Ellis Webb Pendergraft father of Hugh Pendergraft. 1st wife's name was Emma Spencer and 2nd wife was Matilda.

Sharon, Ellis's first wife was Martha Mattie Fletcher, who died in 1896. I have a copy of her obit. She was born in 1863 in Iowa to H. H. Fletcher and Mary Parker. I also have a copy of their marriage license. Betty

Sharon, I assume you are Glen's daughter. My dad is Lester. He passed away on March 2, 2009. I have quite a bit of info on Ellis Webb. He was not married to Emma Mary Spencer. She was married to Ulysses Jones and they were the parents of Florence Jones, Hugh's wife. Ellis was married to Martha Mattie Fletcher and they had two boys, Hugh and Laurance. Ellis Webster Pendergraft was my husband's grandfather and I have an extensive family history on him. Hisz second wife wasMatilda Scribner. There is alot of family in southwest Mo, and many buried in local cemetaries. Ellis Webster is buried in Sedan, Kansas. I will be glad to share what I have and there are others that is tracing other branches of the Pendergraft Tree.

Thank you for your reply. My name is Betty Pendergraft King. My grandfather, Hugh, was Ellis Webb's son from his first marriage to Martha Mattie Fletcher. I live in Noble, OK, 30 miles south of OKC. I would love to have any info that you have on Ellis. My dad (Lester) and I have visited Ellis' gravesite in Sedan. There is no headstone that we could find, but I took a picture of my dad in the area where Ellis supposely was buried. I have visited Barry Co., MO, several times and found the headstones for Ellis' dad, Joseph James (J. J.) and his father, Thomas in the Roller Cemetery in McDonald County.
