Surnames: PEMBRO, PEMTON
Looking to trace any family members past or present especially if they are from the Pembro/Pemton family from St Woolas/Monmouth area of Wales. They appear on the 1881 & 1891 census I am told as both names?. Names for the family are: Father Thomas & Mother was Ann. Children were William, Tom, Hannah, Mary, Elizabeth and Mark John. Mark John was my G/G/Grandfather and made his fortune from the South African goldmines and returned to Wales to give his money back to his family. Does anyone know who any of the Pembro children married? On the 1891 census a Pembro family lived at Yew Tree Farm but where is or was Yew Tree Farm? Does anyone know the location for it now? I think Tom married an Ann and had three children one who was a daughter called Elizabeth. Elizabeth Tom's daughter I think married Harry Brean in Wales and had two daughter's and their girls died quite young. Mark John had two sons Bertram Thomas Edward Pembro and Theodore Charles Pembro -(my G/Grandad) both were born in Lydney Gloucester. Who was Mark John Pembro's wife? Where did he marry & who? and where did he die? Do you have the Pembro/Pemton surname in your family tree? If so please do get in touch and see if we connect anywhere!

Hi Dennis Thanks for your reply by coincidence I recieved an email tonight from Rob who is related to me via his father and my Grandmother being brother and sister.
We have spoken before both last year and earlier this year as you will remember then I had been in touch with the Pembros listed in the U.K. but Rob got in touch and then niether Rob nor his father Terry got back in touch with me to send on any information - it has been since March when I last had any communication with Rob when I came back from N.Z.
I will get in touch with Rob soon to give him more info I have as some of what I have is more in depth than his and some of it differs slightly.
I will email you at your email address to give you my address in case you have misplaced it and I will hopefully hear from you soon,
Take care Elaine xx

Hi,

My name is Katrina, I am married to a Pembro & we live in Australia. My husband's parents live near Bristol, his father is Peter Pembro. Was in the quarry business, which apparently ran in the family.

The reason I'm on this website is that 2 days ago I received an email from a female Pembro in the Midlands researching the family tree for the Pembro clan. Her nephew has created a website: www.pembro.org.uk/index.html....go onto this & you will find plenty of information.

I think the Pembros are all connected...I have also seen photos which bear a strong resemblance to my husband & his family.

I can be reached at: katpembro@hotmail.com
