Alexandra,
My grandfather Francisco Pelaez came from Asturias, Spain. He married Emilia Gomez from the Canary Islands. They emigrated to Havana, Cuba and had three children, Francisco, my father, Jose, my uncle and Adela, my aunt. My father, his brother and sister migrated to New York City from Cuba in the 1900's.

Pelaez branch of a tree.

Hola Alexandra, my branch of the tree, originated in Pie de Loro, a hamlet near Candas, Spain in Asturias.
There were 6 or 7 seven brothers, (I can't remember how many)that left for Cuba, before the turn of the last century. Things were not going well in Spain, so they were trying their luck in Cuba. While there, they found out that things were getting worst in Spain, so diplomatically, they decided that the youngest would be sent back (he had no choice in the matter)They all gave him their share of the farm, and back he went. He saved the farm, and it's still there.
One of the brothers, was my grandfather Francisco. Like Joan (my first cousin)says, he's the father of Jose 1903-1984, my father, Panchito my uncle, Adela my aunt.
From Cuba, some of the brothers went elsewhere. Colombia could have been one of the places. If I find my notes, and I find more to add to this, I shall.
Joe

Joan, it's imperative that we make contact with each other.
Adelaide's 800 number, my e-mail #, was slightly incorrect. We'll work that out when we contact.
We must find all the branches. It's a beautiful tree.
What was your moms sisters name?
I knew her, and her sons Joe Deutch and Carly.
Love, first cousin,
Joe

Hi Joe, I can't believe this! I thought we all relocated so far away that we'd never connect in this life. Then I found this site. My e-mail address is: batt3@erols.com. My mother's sister you asked about was Grace. You know my mother was one of five sisters. Alas, they have all passed on. Please contact me.
