Who, where, and when is this name used? That will help us help you. The Pekarski name came from Poland. Many of those that came over name was changed. Either do to the person registering them not knowing how to spell it, they themselves couldn't spell it in English, or they just wanted a change. Christy.

This name was used approximately 41/42 years ago and longer. It was the birth name of my girlfriend. She was adopted when she was 3 months old and from the time she was placed into the agency, she used her adopted name instead of the birthname. She is now looking for her family and can find no mention of that name anywhere in north america, the only links we've been able to find are to a doctor in Poland. From the feeling she has, her adopted family know who her mother is, but since the death of her father, any information she received has now stopped completely. If there is any information you could supply it would be greatly appreciated. We also have seen references to this name in Pennsylvania, but that trail has grown extremely cold.

Does she know what agency and where. Does she know this last name for sure or could it be mispelled? Piekarski was how ours was spelled before in Poland. It changed to Pekarske or Pekarski here. Hers just seems to close not to be the same. I know back then that several of our family members were killed in some of the strikes or died from illnesses. The parent that was left would have to let relatives help raise some of the kids or they were adopted out. The agency can't give her the father or mother's names? Let me know if you get any further and I will keep her in mind as I am going through info. Christy.

The spelling of this name is the one that's on all her adoption papers. Every piece of documentation she's been able to find during the past few years all have that surname used. Although, both of us also know that because of the name being Polish and many immigrants landing in this country not being able to speak English in any form, the families were at the mercy of whomever was doing the registrations.
The circumstances of her adoption are rather odd though. At a time when children were placed with families when they were a year old or older, she was placed with her adoptive family when she was just three months old.
I believe that her mother's first name was Anne (either Anne, Ann, or Anna). She was born April 25, 1958 in Regina Saskatchewan, Canada. There were 2 hospitals in the city of Regina at that time, but she does not know which one she was born in. She was adopted out by the Roman Catholic Child and Family Services Agency of which "the records have been sealed". She was told the adoptive parents knew the birth mother, the adoptive parents name is Mucha, which is also of Polish ancestry. If you happen to find any information of either of these surnames in your records, could you please contact us and let us know what you have found? Thank you

We finally got some non-identifying information from the Canadian governmet for her. She was adopted by a family named Mucha(which is Polish) in Saskatchewan Canada. Her birth mother's family (Ukranian)was in the hospitality business in Saskatchewan and apparently ,the family owned the business there. Her mother was also 31 at the time she was born. Her father (age 36)was of Scottish decent, and worked in the geological field. There is also an odd thing in here, it says her adoptive parents has the name of Sherman, not Mucha.
I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you , i don't check this board often. It would be faster if you e-mailed me at the address above.
Thank You again for your help.
