Piekarski was the original name from Poland. My husband's g-grandfather was Joesph Pekarski (spelled after landing). He and a brother, Andrew, ended up in WI. They seem to have had at least one other brother named Frank, and possibly a sister. Others may have come over with them. It seems they were quite wealthy and when trouble started in Poland they all hijacked a ship. There is suppose to be a book in the Manitowoc library in WI about them. I have not gotten a chance to read it. I have found someone that has gotten to read it though and was able to trace the family back to Poland. It seems that Joesph's father may have had two wives and children from both. Possible you fit in there somewhere. Joseph was born in 1866. They landed in America before 1900. My email is cwestell@flex.net if I can help you further.

Do not know if this is same John or not yet. But, our Joesph did have a son named John. He married a Grace Kadow. Is that the same? Christy.

To my knowledge, my great-grandfather was a shoemaker when he came to this country from Poland. The old barn at my grandparents house in Coudersport, PA held all of his antique cobbler's tools. (even though the name "Piekaski" translates into "Baker". My grandfather was John W. Pekarski born in Costello, PA on 7-12-1908 . He lived most of his adult life in Coudersport, PA. He died in January, 1982), he had at least 2 brothers that I know of, Stanley (Coudersport, PA 1.17.1915 D-August 1981) and Frank Jr. (8-20-92)Frank Jr. had at least one son Frank III (living in Rome, NY). John W. and Ella (Colegrove)Pekarski had 4 children, Bob and John (both of Coudersport, PA), Ruth (Buzzards Bay, MA) and Charles J. (my father) deceased - 1982. There are 2 children from my father Charles and Lieselotte (Miller) Pekarski, me and my brother Charles R. (DuBois, PA). I have some vague memories of a great-great uncle John (his nickname was Jack) living in Coudersport with my grandparents in the 1960's. From what I can remember, he passed away in the late 1960's.
