Pekala is my father's name. It seems that most of the Pekala's come from Southern Poland. My big Pekala family is from Debica, near Tarnow.
I am wondering where did it started:)
Best greeting to all Pekala's:)))

My Grandmother came from Poland. Her name was Aniela (Angeline) Pekala. Her birthplace was Pilzno, Poland. Her father was Pawel Pekala and her mother was Wiltoria (Victoria) Lada. My gramma had several sisters and one brother who was released and died 6 months after the allies got to poland. If we are related let me know. I don't have a lot of info about my Grandmother.

My G,G,Granparents, Valentine Pekala and Julianna Slota, are also from the southern Poland area in Liki Gorne, which is really close to both Tarnow and Pilzno. Who knows, maybe there is a connection back there, but other than the names, all i know is they were born around the 1860's.

I'll list more info if I find out anything!
