I am not sure if I can be much help but my family line intersects with Peidl, though I don't have much detail.

I have some names, they are;Alex Peidl, Tony Peidl, Mary P. Peidl. Mary Piedl was the daughter of Hannah Holzinger, she married Otto Lock (Locke) and had 3 children, May, Florence and Otto.

My information is very sketchy at best, I am going by a lot of family that met these people 60 years ago as children and there memory of events are not always 100% correct.

Mary P. Lock could stand for Mary Peidl Lock or not.

I am pretty sure she is the daughter of Hannah and beleve they came from Germany. Hannah ran a resturant in Philadelphia, somewhere around 5th and Callowhill till her death in 1908, where here current husband Otto Locke took over and then married her daughter Mary P.

I do know that there was a Mary and she married Otto, a plumber farmer and 3 children as mentioned above. The last name is a logical guess at best

I have been told 4 last names for Hannah, they are Holzinger, Peidl, Brown and Lock, she is burried under the Lock name along with Mary and Otto.
I have These dates

Hannah b. 1862 d. Abt. September 25, 1908
Mary P. b.1887 d. Abt. August 25, 1914
Otto Lock b.May 30, 1864 d.March 17, 1960

Please post information, maybe we can make a connection or e-mail me at "oskard@ix.netcom.com".

Oskar: twice I tried to e-mail you and both times a failure. The name Otto Lock in connection to the Peidl family in the Phila. area is familiar to me. The story is a long one and involved. Please E-mail me for details or post a message on this board with your current e-mail. I think maybe we can help each other fill in some blanks

Hi, My great grandmother maiden name was Peidl (Theresa)born in 1889 her parents were Mihaly & Rosalia (Keller)Peidl and i believe they were from Vezprem Hungary. My great grandmother married Janos(John)Weber and immigrated in 1905 and resided in Bethlehem Pennsylvania area. Am not sure if we are connected in any way. So if not...just wanted to say hello!

Hello. My name is Vicki. I live in New Jersey. Been here my entire life. My family history from what I understand is in Austria/Hungary. I am interested as well, in finding some connections, if there are any, to my long lost family. There doesn't seem to be many Peidl's around here as far as i can see. Whatever info we can share would be cool. Thanks, Vicki

Hi Leanne,

Most of the Hungarian branches of the Peidls can be traced back to the village of Bakonygyirót, Veszprém county in the early 1700s. My branch settled in nearby Románd. Theresa Peidl, age 16, from Nagyvázsony, arrived at Ellis Island on March 21, 1905, aboard the ship "Ultonia", bound for Scranton, PA. I haven't researched Nagyvázsony greatly, but do know that there were also Keller & Weber families there in the 1880s. Please email me drectly if I can be more help.

Hi Vicki,

I also happen to be in NJ. I'll help you if I can. My line runs through Philadelphia to Románd to Bakonygyirót Hungary. I've researched the family in a number of places in Hungary. If you can identify your immigrant, perhaps I can steer you in the correct direction, if I'm able.

Surnames: Peidl Brown Lock Locke Holzinger Wurster
My grandmother was Hannah Theresa Wurster (Brown) of Philadelphia and Wildwood, NJ. Her mother (Hannah F Holzinger) married three times - first was Peidl (Germany), second was Thomas Brown (Ireland) and third was Otto Lock(e) (Denmark). The second marriage to Thomas Brown produced my grandmother. There was also a story about a Peidl girl marrying Otto Lock(e), if that's even possible. I would be interested in any information in this subject.
