Cinda, Tom and I are both looking into the Pehringer line you are also looking into. A bit of loose ends to go on so far. What I know that came from Carl's wife, Sharon, and searching around, is we found a F. Pehringer that came over from Germany in 1863 at 25. Have been looking for him. But, just recently did a search at genealogy.com and found they had listed two F. Pehringer's in their passenger databases, I don't want to pay 59.95 a piece just for that, but think they may or may not be of the same person that came over. Another Pehringer family lived in Maryland, Michael in the SSDI is one of them, the wife of the later one that passed away, maybe it is Michael, i'd have to check couldn't remember alot, but thought his parents were from Austria. So, more to do. Knowing that names often get misspeled leaves alot more places to look also. I just want to know what happened to F. or Franz Pehringer after he got here and where did he settle. In the line we do know, Frank Pehringer Sr. disappeared and I would certainly like to find his death date at least. Does your family have any information on this that might help? If you want I can send you some Pehringer info. on Frank Sr., that Ray Pehringer's mother-in-law
researched for us, like his application for marriage license, draft registration card and a copy of birth record for one or so of his kids and other information she came up with. I really think that the more of us looking will eventually turn up something! And if you have any original documents from Frank SR. and Eva, I sure would like copies too. I called SD and got places and dates of your father's siblings, but still more to locate. My ex-father in law is Carl Pehringer. E-mail me at
altheap@wyoming.comand we can talk. I am excited that you also will be in on the search. Contact me please!
