Vicky--we are related to the Pehl's around
the Fredricksburg area--I am real new to this
search but I have been in touch with someone
who may be able to help you. My grandmother
was Helena Pehl Durbin from that general area.

Hi: you need to email lewcastillo@uswest.net for the email address of Kenneth Pehl of Fredericksburg. I'm sorry, but I bought a new computer and do not presently have his address.

Jacob Pehl is son of Adam Pehl, son of Peter Pehl who came to Texas ca 1845.

It's all in a Pehl Family Book Compiled and Edited by Kenneth J. Pehl and Mary Ann Klein.

Helena was sister to my grandfather, Peter Pehl, son of Peter Pehl, son of Johann Adam Pehl. Johann Adam was a brother to Peter Pehl in my previous message.

However, you and I would be third, fourth or fifth cousins depending on your age. I'm 72.

I talked to Claude Walters last year trying to trace the Durbin lineage for Laurie Castillo - (lewcastillo@uswest.net). I am wondering if you are Helen Lynett. Email me at evelynr@wans.net

If so, you are eligible for the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and can tie on to my application. Peter Pehl born in Germany in 1838 (on grave) 1836 on LDS Records is buried at Oakhill.

LyNett: Thank you for your reply. I apologize for the delay in answering. Any direction you could offer would be appreciated.

I have been doing my genealogical research via the internet for about a year now. I will be most happy to share what little education I have gathered.

I am searching for information on Elizabeth Pehl. She was married to Henry S. E. Levering and he died somewhere around the Uvalde, Texas area before 1860.

Hi - In the Pehl Family Book written by Kenneth J.Pehl and Mary Ann Klein,(Fredericksburg, Texas) Page 155 states: "It is strongly believed that the eldest offspring, Eliabeth, married in Uvalde Country first to a Henry (?) Levering with a second marriage later to a Eli Edmundson, However, no definite proof has been established to confirm these suspicions. Further information is lacking to establish the descendancy from here."

Parents listed are John Adam Pehl and Anna Maria Lenz, who are also my great great grandparents. Their son, Peter;(Elizabeth's brother)Peter's son, Peter, his son, Walter , who was my dad.

"A New Land Beckoned" by Chester W. Genue and Ethel Hander Geue, shows:

Pehl, Jon.A. from Holler, Nass; Hercules, 1845; with Anna, nee Lenz, ch Elis., Peter, Magda., Adam; Gillespie County 1850.

In 1860, you find my great grandfather, Peter(who married Mary Anna Klein) and sister Magdalena (who married Adam Fries) living with their Uncle Peter, brother to Johann Adam.

It's great to hear from you. I will try to get you Kenneth's email. Maybe you can find her under Edmundson.

I believe we are third cousins. If you can find Elizabeth, and establish lineage, then you are eligible for the Daughters of the Republic of Texas - if you are interested.

Please keep in touch.

Two errors in above message. Peter, sister of Elizabeth, married Anna Marie Fries. and the listing is Pehl, Joh. A in "A New Land Beckoned".

Lynette, Ken Pehl is trying to get in touch with you. You emailed him sometime ago and his computer went down and he lost all his email addresses, including yours.

It's kpehl@fbg.net.
