Pegg surname project

Pegg surname project

Classification: Query
Surnames: Pegg
There is an active Pegg clan defined by DNA genealogy and based on the FTDNA surname project. We have our own forum where we discuss our origins and phylogenetic trees. The Pegg "home" county seems to be Derbyshire. The members of the clan all belong to a subgroup (L-19) of the haplogroup E. The E haplogroup is very rare in the UK. We are investigating how and when our ancestors arrived in England. I could offer more information if anyone is interested. By the way, there is a sale on DNA testing until the end of the year. I would recommend a test with at least 67 markers.

Kristine: Sorry I have no information on your ancestor, Harry Pegg from Birmingham. From 1837 on there were civil records of births, marriages and deaths in England. Harrry Pegg should appear somewhere here. You can find out where he lived by looking at the censuses. The national census began in 1841. You ancestor should appear on the censuses of 1871,1881, 1891, 2001, 2011. Good luck, David

My Pegg family is living in Canada but I know they were living in the Great Waldingfield area of Suffolk England and London before they immigrated to Ontario Canada and Western Canada. I would like to know if this part of the Pegg family is included in your research.
