NEW CARLISLE -- Mrs. Edith A. Peffley, 73, first resident of the United Missionary Home, New Carlisle, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Mercy Hospital, Springfield where she had been a patient three weeks. Mrs. Peffley resided at the home since November, 1962.
She was born in Montgomery County July 20, 1895, the daughter of Henry and Bertha Wortman.
Mrs. Peffley was the last of her immediate family other than several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the United Missionary Church, Fourth and McGee sts., Dayton. The Rev. Ralph Holdeman, district superintendent of the United Missionary Church, and the Rev. Jesse Seeker, pastor of the New Carlisle united Missionary Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in New Carlisle Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Trostel-Chapman Funeral home, New Carlisle, form 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Edith was my grandmothers stepmother.
Edith was married to Albert Alonzo Heffner (his second marriage and her first). They are buried at New Carlisle Cemetery.
