I am looking for information on the Peffleys. More like Fred W. Peffley. He was married to Jennie C. Peffley (don't know the maiden name). They had a son named Garner Peffley. Garner Peffley married Golda Peffley (think her maiden name was Jordan). Garner and Golda had a daughter named Gladys. Gladys is my grandma. I cant get past Fred. Alls I know is that Freds dad was originally from Switzerland. If anyone has any info. please let me know. You can email at angel219304@yahoo.com. Thanks

I can't get you back past Fred. My brother-in-law is Randy Peffley, who is the son of Arlene and Richard. Richard is the youngest son of Golda and Garner. I am trying to collect information on their children. Per Randy, there were 13 children but between the census and Randy's memory, we are only up to 9. We have George F, Harold R, G Eiteon (who I assume is Gladys), Charles, Kenneth W (who was killed during a war), Clarence and Bernard. If G Eiteon isn't Gladys, then we can add Gladys to the list and that gives us ten.

Any help that you can give is appreciated and as I am able to collect information, I will share with you.

William Frederick's father was Christian Peffley b. 1823 d. 1890. His mother was Margret Bearg b. May 1829 d. aft 1910 census listing. I have 8 children of Christian and Margret. I also cannot get back further than these two. I have the Peffley family pretty well mapped but i haven't connected Christian up to Nickolas Peffley who is the ancestor of most Peffley/Pefley/Peffly families in America. There is also one other branch that is from MI that i can't connect to Nickolas or Christian.

Thanks for the quick response. Randy couldn't remember all of the aunts and uncles, he remembered Gladys, Christine, Bernard and Clarence. He also mentioned that his youngest brother received the family bible from his father. I will have Randy check and see what happened to it. There was a divorce and a fire. If the ex-wife has it, it could provide more information. If not, then I am afraid it could have burned in the fire. I will let you know what I find out.

I thought it was Frederick William, not William Frederick. That's what I was told from a library I contacted. That's nice, they don't even have the right info. Anyways, Garner Charles Peffley's dad was William Frederick and William Frederick's dads name was Christian, correct? I found all these people at the library but couldn't connect them to anyone. I was sure if they were related or not. I'm having a really hard time with this. If you have anymore info. please contact me at angel219304@yahoo.com Thanks for the info. If I get anything else, I'll let you know.

I emailed you earlier and told you that I would talk to my dad about the aunts and uncles. These are the ones we came up with: Charles (people use to call him June), Bernard, Clarence, Bill, Eileen (G Eiteon), Gladys, Beatrice, Kenneth, George, Harold, Christine, and your brother-in-laws father Richard. My dad said he doesn't remember an Uncle Richard. He said Christine had a son named Richard, but that's all he can remember. That would make 12...we can't think of a 13th person. But none-the-less, Randy and I are 3rd cousins!!! So weird, but very cool. My dad or I will call my aunt Diane tomorrow and try to get more info. If there's anymore info. let me know angel219304@yahoo.com

My dad and I came up with 11 kids, possibly and 12th. Here they are: Charles, Bernard, Clarence, Bill, Eileen (Garnet Eileen or G Eiteon), Gladys, Beatrice, Kenneth (died in war), George, Harold and Christine. The 12th one we came up with was Richard, but that's only because of another post. My dad can't remember an Uncle Richard. Anyways, does it list what William Frederick's wifes name was? I have Jenny C. I couldn't find a last name. It is said in the family that "Jenny C." is a full blooded Indian. The story is she married a white man so she wouldn't have to go to the reservation in New Mexico. I don't know how true it is, but that's the family story. If you have anymore info., or find out anymore info., please email me at angel219304@yahoo.com
Thanks!

Kimberly,

Go back and read through this entire thread. Someone else has responded and made connections back farther than I have. I have found Garner C listed as Charles G in some of the censuses and I have found Fred W/Frederick/William F Peffley/Pefley. Fred's wife is listed as Jennie C/Celah J/Celah Jane. I will email you.

Ok, I talked to my aunt last night. She said that William Frederick is the correct person. Williams parents names are Christian and Margret (Bearg). Margret is the one that's suppose to be the full blooded Indian. And there are only 11 kids, not 13 like Randy thought and Randy would be my 2nd cousin, not 3rd like I thought. Anyways, here are the names...again: Charles, Bernard, Clarence, Richard (Uncle Bill), Eileen, Gladys, Beatrice, Kenneth (died in the war), George (who was the oldest), Harold (everyone called him Uncle Ted), and Christine. The reason my dad didn't remember Uncle Richard is because everyone called him Uncle Bill. He wasn't around much my dad said and after he moved to MD, they never really saw him that much anymore. I can give you all of Gladys kids names and their kids names and so on...basically going down instead of up. If you want them I'll give them to you..no big deal. If we ever get this all organized and you do a family tree you might want them :) Anyways, I'll be waiting to hear back from you :) talk to you soon.
