Mary Elizabeth Miller Peffers was born in 1827-28. in Durand, Ill, Died in 1875 in Codington County, SD. Boy this must be someone or someones luck day, been getting family inquires for the last week on both side of my family. Do you perchance have a birth location for my great grandmother Ruth Elizabeth Peffers. Where she was born has been a big question. She was the last born of the Peffers children. Have the Miller family back one more generation and the connecting Trask family one generation. Family names: Welch,Sears,Weimer,Miller,Darling,Peffers( on FTW World Family Tree #7),Wood. All I have on Ruth is she was born 9/19/1867 and died 1938 in Wisconsin. She married Albert Sidney Welch in Ohio. Wish I could give you more but we are of the same family. You have WEIMER connections but my spelling for my family is WIMER although I do believe your spelling is in there also. My gggrandfather was Lewis Cass Wimer. Do you have anything on John C. and Elizabeth's parents? Would appreciate anything you could throw my way. Thanks Cuz.

John C. Peffers was born in NY, that is all I have on him. I suspect that he may have had another family. Mary Elizabeth Miller's parents were Nathaniel Miller from MA, and Martha Trask from NY. Both born I think in 1799. Have no death date due to I lose them after 1860 in ILL. Boy, I sure have been jump today!

Re: Martha Alsista Peffers
I don't know if this will help. My mother was a Peffers and I have found out from my aunt that there were two families in Scotland of Peffers (unrelated).
My mother's family were millers from Haddington, south-east of Edinburgh. Half the town seems to be Peffers'. My aunt said that some time, perhaps in the late 1800s, the miller's son married a farmer's daughter. That's all she remembers of her early family. She's nearly 90 now. The mill, called Peffers' Mill, is still standing apparently but now not used.
The other Peffers family I know little about. A friend of mine, keen on geneology, looked up my family and in about l0 minutes flat had followed it back to before Cromwell's time and I found that my names and my sister's were used over and over again throughout the centuries.
Best wishes for your research.

Re: Martha Alsista Peffers
Hi Julie my dad was Donald Peffers born in 1928 in london, England. His family came from the Newcastle area and his father had three brothers that lost touch with each other. Trying to find connections to James or George Irwin Peffers born abt 1910.
