Do you know if Peter was related to Mary Margaret (Maybe just Margaret) Peffer/Piffer? who married Sidney Mountain lived in Indiana Co. Pa., first in Covode and then in Grant Twp.

I am also looking for information on Sidney and Margaret Peffer Mountain. I am a great-great-granddaughter of their son, Jerome Roy Mountain and was raised in Green Township, Indiana Co, PA. Any information I could get on either the Mountain or Peffer ancestry would be greatly appreciated. I would also be willing to share what I have so far. Thanks.

My g-grandmother was Jerome Roy's sister. She was Margaret Mountain Kinnan. I have not been able to document the marriage, etc of Sidney and Margaret. There is a difference of opinions on Margaret and her arrival in the U.S. My mother always told us that she and her sister were brought to the U.S. from Holland by their uncle because they were orphaned. This would have been in approx. 1832-34. I suspect they really came from Germany. One researcher has her arriving with George (and Eva Wyning) Peffer. I could not find them in the 1850 census for years but finally did find them. The census taker had mangled the name so badly that it appears as Gidwizer Martin rather than Sidney Mountain. I feel it has to be the family because most of the other data mastches. I had been told that they came to Zelionople first and then later Margaret must have moved to the Covode, Marchand area. I would be glad to share what I have.

Hello:

I am trying to find out if Sidney & Mary Margaret Mountains son Sidney is my great-great grandfather. My grandmother was Mildred Mountain (born in Erie, PA around 1916 and died in Erie in 1975 - she married Ted Leasure) her father was Jesse Lee Mountain (born Grant Twp., PA 2/22/1898) I believe his fater is Sidney mountain who was the son of Mary Margaret and Sidney Mountain. Thats where though, i'm not sure and trying to find more information. I'm trying to find out if the Sidney Mountain that was born in/around 1858 had a son named Jess or Jesse Lee around 1898. Do any of you know who Sidney (born 1858) married, I was told it was Anna, last name unknown by us and if they had a son named Jess or Jesse?

Thanks!
