STRUTHERS - Gertrude Irene Peebles Pajatsch, 95, died Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Assumption Village.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1920, in Struthers, Ohio (Mahoning County) the daughter of Charles Edward and Jessie Marie Tidd Peebles Schoenfelder.
She lived most of her life in Struthers, OH
She was a member of the Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Pajatsch, whom she married Oct. 21, 1939; two sisters, Mary Dean and Thelma Gayon Anglemyer; and two brothers, Edward and George Peebles.
She leaves her two daughters, Judith (Joseph) Stokkerman of Mattawan, Michigan and Diane (Richard) Pennell of Poland, OH; six grandchildren, Pamela (Michael) Jager of Byron Center, Mich., Joseph Stokkerman of Marshall, Mich., Dianna Earle of Kalamazoo, MI., Barbara (Jerry) Hamrock of San Jose, Calif., Laura (David) Lutz of Denver, N.C. and Brian (Kim) Pennell of Galena, OH; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Hilda Taindel of Boardman and Anna Marie Yaniglos of Boardman; and many nieces and nephews.
Prayer services will begin on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church.
Burial will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery, Poland, Ohio.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. “Our heartfelt thanks goes to all of the nurses and aides in special care and the skilled unit at Assumption Village, who have been so kind, helpful and caring through the years.
